IT’S THE EPiC WORLD TOUR ELVIS NEVER HAD…
BAZ LUHRMANN BRINGS ‘EPiC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT’ ON THE ROAD, STARTING DOWN UNDER

Famed Australian director to attend Sydney Premiere at OpenAir Cinema on February 8

Fresh from rave reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience that invites audiences to hear the King of Rock’n’roll sing and tell his story like never before.

Celebrating the power and presence of Presley for a new generation, this is Elvis in his own words revealing the entertainer, the musician, and the man behind the icon.

More than a documentary or a concert film, visionary director Baz Luhrmann’s groundbreaking new project may have been created here on the Gold Coast but will transport audiences to the golden era of 1970s Las Vegas.

Remastered and reimagined, EPiC showcases Elvis at the height of his powers – an enduring and charismatic global star on the ‘world tour’ he never got to have.

Following its Australian Premiere at the AACTA Festival on Saturday, February 7, Luhrmann will introduce the film at its Sydney Premiere at OpenAir Cinema on Sunday, February 8. He will then head south to attend a post-screening Q&A at IMAX Melbourne on Monday, February 9.

About EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert

Building on the energy and emotion of his Oscar-nominated 2022 hit Elvis, EPiC is an electrifying cinematic odyssey, an intimate, pulse-pounding encore.

Luhrmann returns with a bold new vision — his first foray into non-scripted storytelling – that blurs the line between film and live performance.

Elvis’ revolutionary sound and unparalleled star status has inspired generations of performers. His musical and vocal skills along with his iconic performance style and showmanship are on display in EPiC placing the audience on stage and in the room with Elvis.

Luhrmann draws on newly unearthed footage of Presley’s legendary Las Vegas residency and US tour, blending cutting edge technology, a full orchestra and his unmistakable flair to capture Elvis at his best: raw, intimate and electric.

The film features intimate moments and stunning live performances of many timeless global hits including Suspicious Minds, Burning Love and Always On My Mind.

A once in a generation talent with a unique directorial style, EPiC marks Luhrmann’s second major project on the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, following Elvis, which earned eight Academy Award® nominations, won multiple BAFTA’s® and Golden Globes®, and grossed nearly $300 million worldwide.

EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert opens in Australian cinemas February 19.
