Oz Comic-Con is returning to Brisbane and Sydney this September, bringing a stellar line-up of fan-

favourite guests to both cities. With an electric atmosphere, unforgettable cosplay and immersive

pop culture experiences, this year’s events are set to be the ultimate celebration of fandom across

screen, page and beyond.

Leading the first wave of announced guests is headliner Alex Brightman, the two-time Tony

Award nominee celebrated for his standout roles on Broadway in Beetlejuice and School of Rock.

He also voices the fan-favourite character Fizzarolli in the hit animated series Helluva Boss.

Brightman’s dynamic presence across stage and screen makes him a must-see at this year’s event.

Joining him is Katie Cassidy, best known for her iconic role as Laurel Lance / Black Canary in the

Arrowverse and her early appearances as Ruby on Supernatural. She’ll be joined by DJ Qualls, the

cult favourite whose work spans Supernatural, Z Nation, Road Trip and The Man in the High Castle.

Also on the guest list is Ty Olsson, beloved for his portrayal of Benny in Supernatural, and known

more widely for his roles in Wynonna Earp and The 100.

Adding to the excitement is Renée O’Connor, known for her iconic role as Gabrielle in Xena:

Warrior Princess. Long-time fans of cult television will be thrilled to see her grace the Brisbane and

Sydney stages, especially as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series. Rounding out the guest

announcements for the time being, anime fans will be thrilled by the appearance of Tara Sands,

whose credits span Pokémon, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece and Hunter x Hunter.

Cosplay continues to shine with the Oz Comic-Con Championships of Cosplay returning once

more. Cosplayers from across the country will compete for a $1500 cash prize and a place in the

Hall of Fame. Attendees can also enjoy casual cosplay meetups, themed photoshoots, and workshops

across both cities, perfect for fans looking to celebrate creativity and character.

Artist Alley will be a must-visit, packed with local and international artists, comic creators and

writers. Whether you’re on the hunt for a one-of-a-kind sketch, an indie comic or a signed print, the

Alley is where fans and creators come together.

Across the show floor, fans can expect retail vendors, gaming zones, live panels and hands-on

workshops. From exclusive pop culture merch to behind-the-scenes storytelling from industry

talent, Oz Comic-Con is built for discovery and connection.

Whether you're a first-timer or a lifelong fan, this is your chance to connect with community,

creativity and the characters you love.

With more announcements still to come, Oz Comic-Con Brisbane and Sydney are shaping up to be

unmissable highlights on the 2025 event calendar. For more information and to purchase tickets,
