Superman is a refreshing welcome back to the much loved Superman that I grew up reading and plays great homage to the silver age comics of the era.
The film doesn’t babysit its audience (this character has been in pop culture now for close to 87 years) so we don’t need another origin story, you’re thrown straight into the world of metropolis and introduced to lots of great characters from the comics who are acted and portrayed very faithfully.

I knew when Guy Gardner was announced as Green Lantern in this film that we were going to get something different and l can’t wait to see Nathan Fillon reprise his role in Lanterns.
The action and story flow very well with a nice blend of heavy sci-fi thrown in, this Lex Luthor really has some incredible gadgets & toys to play with to face off against Superman.
We have a strong villain in Lex Luthor who is the most maniacally played on screen we have seen to date, Nicholas Hoult did an amazing job portraying the character and you can tell he enjoyed himself while doing it.

David Corenswet is also a great as Superman / Clark Kent, he is everything you would want in Superman. He’s endearing, a boys scout, knows what he can do but still stays humble. All of the Daily Planet team portray their characters to a T, Lois Lane & Jimmy Olson especially.
The film has many layers of social commentary thrown in that complement the story but at the same time aren’t forced like we have seen in other films lately.
All I can say is ignore the hate and go out and see it for yourself, the film has alot of fun, heart & hope which I think we could all use right now.
I throughly enjoyed myself and that’s what the cinema experience is all about.
5/5 💙❤️
